Reflexology
- Applications
Treatments
All
treatments follow three basic lines. This also applies for reflexology:
1. Contributions for the general well-being
2. Treatment of diseases and ailments
3. Self experience as a healing - way
Reflexology treatments perfectly line up in these baselines. They
provide impulses that convey the person an inner order. It does not
matter whether we administer a feel-good massage on reflexology of the
feet, a neural therapy with injections in the dermatomes or if we make
a healing meditation to use reflexology as a portal to reinforce the
organs.
This clearly raises the question: what is health? Beyond the
complicated definition of the WHO and the negative definition of
medicine (absence of disease), H.G. Gadamer gave us a nice explanation
for health when he wrote: “Health is the pleasurable silence
of
the organs" So health is not a state but an ongoing process in which we
try to increase the quality of our internal tuning. Disease we can
accordingly regard as a disturbance of the inner order, as a blockage
of this development. Reflexology treatments have the task to assist us
to regain our self-healing powers that go along with this internal
order. This requires that we try to comprehend the human as a whole.
Accordingly, the first steps are always ones of touching, which bring
us inevitably in contact with emotions and energies. - and emotions
want to be treated with attentiveness and energies need to be regarded
with vigilance.
Latest now it becomes clear that reflexology treatments must always be
as painless as possible. We also need to rethink the common assumption
"a lot helps more". In all treatments it is not the amount of pressure
which is crucial. Rather it is the presence in our doing and the
quality of communication. That enables the success of treatments.
Even if we make everything right, we are still not able to make another
one healthy. Health grows in us and we can only give impulses to
prepare the ground for health. But this often seems like a miracle.
In reflexology we have an abundance of methods for treatments. Besides
the massages which we can support with essential oils we can put herb
sachets on the reflexology zones or treat them with crystal wands. In
therapy, neural therapeutic injections, needle (or laser) applications,
electrical impulses of reflexology points have proven to be very
effective. In reflexology we also have ways at our disposition which
allow us an access to the spiritual nature of the organs.
The most important tools, however, are still our natural ones: heart,
mind and hands. In exactly this order any treatment will become an art
of healing.
