These
specific benefits through direct contact are one of the oldest methods
of healing of mankind.
At the beginning of a treatment we should give our clients the
opportunity to perceive us as a companion for this experience.
Therefore a massage starts that we (e.g.) take quietly the feet of our
client for a moment into our hands, without doing something
immediately.
This mutual perception is a good opportunity to take a deep breath and
tune into the breathing rhythm of our client. These moments are often
essential for the whole treatment. The person feels accepted in the
truest sense of the word. On this basis real well-being, health and
healing can develop. Then we deepen our contact with soft strokes and
continue our pleasant massage with appropriate strokes. Likewise
mindfully, we leave the treatment again, as we hold the feet some
moments after our finishing strokes.
Your massage was definitely correct if your clients who entrust
themselves to your hands fall asleep or when children ask again for
your massages.
Examples of massage
strokes
Stroking
At
all stroking movements we model
our hands to the region we are dealing with. For this purpose is
necessary to make your hands completely soft that they nestle evenly
against the skin. As an introduction into a treatment we can use the
yin-yang - stroking which are performed in the direction of the flow of
the yin and yang meridians. These stroking cause an basic energy
balance at the beginning of a massage.
Circles on the spot
With
this massage mode, we can feel
the texture of the subcutaneous connective tissue and it is also
suitable for treatment. We circle slowly with a finger on the spot
(always painless!) in the rhythm of the client's breathing.
Lymph pumping
Both
thumbs massage the tissue
rhythmically with low pressure in a pumping mode (especially in the
reflexology zones of the neck and chest). This treatment is due to
stimulate the lymphatic system and it often leads to a feeling of
lightness.
Cat steps
This
is a rhythmic pedalling motion
where the thumbs softly make alternating steps on the reflexology zones
of the autonomic nervous system in the abdomen. A technique to provide
general comfort and balance.
Mobilizing the joints
Moving
all joints gently and softly
as a refreshing technique at the end of a massage. Also for loosening
of the deep structures.
The massage techniques are taught in the seminars
